YELLO

Client: Student Work

Category: UX, Branding

Role: Initial ideation, wireframing, user testing, and brainstorming of the brand was done with a partner, then we split up to execute branding and further refine our apps.

PROJECT BRIEF:

Analyze a given persona and design a mobile experience that fulfills their unique needs while incorporating data visualizations.

Discovery

First, we examined our given persona and her daily routine.

The goal was to get to know our user and figure out her biggest painpoints. After exploring a few options, we chose a direction and fleshed out our user story and scenario.

RESEARCH QUESTION.

How might a mobile app encourage and simplify keeping in touch with loved ones?

Task Flows

Up until this point, all work on this project had been in collaboration with my partner. But from here on out, we worked individually.

Branding

Welcoming. Practical. Everyday.

Those three key characteristics guided everything from the name and visual elements to the language used and everything in between.

REFLECTION

Working with a partner for the first half of the project and then splitting up was a new experience for me and I really enjoyed it. We were able to come up with more ideas in a shorter amount of time than I would have on my own. And then I was able to execute the idea in my own way. I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

If I were to revisit this project, I’d like to explore additional capabilities of the app. Some things I have in mind are tagging/grouping contacts, keeping notes, and how goals would play out over time.
